Hi, my name is Courtney! I’m passionate about two things; travel and planning.
While not for everyone, those two go hand in hand for me. I could spend hours planning a hypothetical trip to a far off place that I have no concrete plans to visit (yet). And using my knowledge and experience in these topics, I want to help you make your travel dreams a reality.
After graduating college in May of 2020, I took a job working as a bank auditor for two years. I hated almost every minute of it. I knew that I couldn’t work the traditional 9-5 job that I had been brought up my entire life to do. I knew I didn’t want to use my degree in finance. So, I put in my two weeks notice and started planning my dream backpacking trip – six months in Southeast Asia.
I wasn’t a newbie to travel. I spent a large portion of my upbringing living abroad in places like Germany, England, and Italy. In college, I spent my summers traveling in Europe and Japan.

But I’d never planned a trip like this before. I had no clue what I was in for. Being the obsessive planner I am, I researched any and everything I could. The months I spent researching in addition to the months I spent traveling full time taught me a lot.
I enjoyed nearly every minute of my time in Southeast Asia. But as it neared an end, I realized that I didn’t want this to be my “crazy, once in a lifetime, only something you do while you’re young” trip. I wanted to keep going. Realistically, I had to return back home to the U.S. to figure out what I was going to do now. After all, I didn’t have an income, I was living off my savings. I had no motivation to apply for regular jobs and get back to a normal life. Upon further reflection, I realized that while this dream trip ticked one box off of my bucket list, it added about a thousand new boxes. I really should have known that my travel itch wasn’t going to go away. It very rarely ever works out that way.
So ever since, my goal has been to do what I can to be able to live the so called “nomad life” – working remotely while traveling. Currently, I spend as much time in Belgium (where my partner lives) as a tourist visa will allow and travel when I can in the remainder of my time.
On this blog, I want to provide resources for all the budget travelers out there. I believe that travel is invaluable in gaining a better understanding and new perspectives in this world. So I want to help as many people as I can by removing barriers that might stop them from taking their dream trip. On this blog you’ll find:
